The cladding is the timber on the outside of the building. We offer a traditional shiplap and our own pattern loglap. All the timber is prepared (planed). Both sections have a tongue and a rebate to give maximum strength and good weather protection.
The bearers go under the building and are a spacer between it and the concrete base. They are designed to give air flow under the building to prevent condensation build-up, helping to prevent rot and prolonging the life of the building. If you are having a timber framed base these are not required.
A pent building is a single sloping roof traditionally front to back and this works very well when looking to keep a reasonably wide building under 2.5 planning rule. And apex building is the traditional roof shape and is shaped like a capital A.
With most buildings we can avoid planning please see our dedicated page for more information
Your building will be made to order once we have agreed your personal specifications, which means you can usually modify door and window positioning at no extra cost. This means there is a lead-time for your building that will be confirmed when you place your order.
You don't need to be in when we deliver and install, and our delivery and installation teams don't need power. So long as we can get access to the base we can complete the building without inconveniencing you.
We deliver between 8am and 5pm on weekdays only. We'll usually be able to give you an estimate of when we'll arrive with you when we confirm delivery a couple of weeks before we arrive.
When placing your order at Bakers we can add partitions, extra doors, windows and so on to build the perfect building to meet your needs. Please look at the Tailor-made page for some ideas.
