FAQs - Base

Frequently Asked Questions - Base

What do I need for a base?

To ensure that the building is stiff and strong, all our buildings require a firm and level base. The foundations of your building are as important to the structure as the foundations of a house. This should be done with concrete or a timber frame base. If you'd like us to take the strain, we have our own in house base team with over 30 years of experience. We offer a free site survey to see the area and give you a full and final quotation

What are bearers?

The bearers go under the building and are a spacer between it and the concrete base. They are designed to give air flow under the building to prevent condensation build-up, helping to prevent rot and prolonging the life of the building. If you are having a timber framed base these are not required.
