Garden Study

Mr & Mrs C wanted to get back one of their bedrooms that had been used as a study by putting a room in their garden. After visiting our showground and a site visit from us, a decision was made; there was an area of approximately 20×6 of decking with a pergola and the new building was to go there.

Bakers produced a quotation and details and costs were agreed for the garden study.

The pergola was removed then our base team fitted a timber framed base on top of the existing area and it was completed in 2 days. The building was based on the Jay but with kestrel windows in the loglap cladding. To fit in Mr. C’s existing book cases extra height was added.

Insulation and Maple Laminate were added to the floor & our security pack fitted. The roof could be seen from upstairs and Mrs. C wanted it to be a feature so they requested red diagonal roof tiles.

The rain runs to the back and is collected by the guttering into a water butt, the out side walls are protected with our base coat preservative and 2 coats of walnut Sikkens.Our electrician ran a new submain from the consumer unit to the building and lighting, heating and sockets were installed. Then Mr. C furnished it with his existing study all fitting in perfectly to plan leaving enough room for his keyboard to tickle the ivories between his workoffice part of the room
