Combination Room Case Study 5308

Read how we transformed an under-developed garden with a dilapidated building into an "outstanding" combination garden room for a Kent family.

The project - a contemporary Combination Garden Room in Beckenham, Kent

This customer had a large, yet under-developed, garden with old dilapidated building. They were hoping to landscape and create a new garden which would include building with storage. And on visiting our showground and viewing our Kite combination room, fthey ound exactly what they were looking for.

The work - laying the foundations for a new garden room

Working alongside the customer's landscape gardener, we laid a timber framed base on existing concrete before installing the building.

This building measures 5m wide and 6m deep - 3.6m of garden room/office, and 2.4m of storage at the rear, which was partitioned off into 2 sections - one lined and insulated for dry storage and the other unlined for garden and general equipment.

We also created an internal door within the main building for direct access to the dry storage section, and an external door for access to the second store.

Beause of its 6m depth, the customer opted for our EPDM roof and rear height package so as to maximise on the garden building's internal headroom, whilst respecting the 2.5m height planning rule. It also features our lowE planitherm argon warm-edge glass upgrade, 'Florence' timber laminated flooring, internal MDF panels painted in 'Timeless', electrics package including our communications upgrade, v-groove Medite Tricoya Extreme (MTX) to the front and right of building and Sadolin Superdec 'Anthracite'.
