Case Study 4727 - Endless pool garden room in Surrey

Endless pool garden room in Surrey

Mr & Mrs C approached Home Counties swimming pools as they were looking for an endless pool within the room. Principally this was to be used by their son for training but also to teaching others. To keep the costs as low as possible it was decided that the Pool would be surface mounted as opposed to inset in the ground, and our standard kite garden room would be the best building for it.

Although the sliding and bifold are great options they do add cost. As this was to be used in a more slightly commercial sense and purely for the use of the Pool the building did not have installation and the glazing was single toughed. The walls near the Pool were internally lined with the Fire board to conform to building regulations, but also to protect the timber framing.

The building was made under the 2.5 planning rule, and the pool was set tights to the back left corner. This meant the building didn't have to be too large and there was a good area at the head end of the Pool which benefits in teaching technique and guiding the swimmer.  On the floor we laid the beach house oak Aquastep: this is a wet room floor that is perfect for these conditions.

If you would like to have a test swim in an endless pool or would like to see one of our buildings similar to this project we now have one on display at Home Counties  Pool at the Hillier's garden centre in Horsham, and we would happily arrange this for you.
