Case Study 4323 - Endless pool garden room

Endless pool garden room

We work closely with a number of local companies including Home Counties Pools based in Horsham. Their customer was looking for an endless pool to be installed within a room in their garden. As with all projects of this type we had a site meeting which included the customer, Home Counties Pools and myself. The initial project was laid out and the quotations were then sent.

Endless pools have a powerful  jetstream within so you swim against a current whilst remaining in the same position. These are great exercise pools and give you the benefits of being able to accommodate it within a building and having running costs far cheaper than that of a full-sized swimming pool. Furthermore,  if you're a keen tri-athlete then this is the perfect training as it is the closest replicate to open water swimming you can have.

It was decided that the pool was to be part sunk into the ground. Working alongside Home Counties,  a pit was created & concreted that incorporated the pool itself. An extension to this then created the foundations of the building and an extension for a decking platform to the the front. The best form of internal lining for this application or hot tub is natural timber as it allows for breathing. We then coat this with a water seal product. The bifold doors give you the best of both worlds, where in the summer you can open up and enjoy that integration with the garden, and for closing securely on those cold winter days. These doors are double glazed and along with the building being lined and insulated leaves a warm garden room with a swimming pool that can be used and enjoyed throughout the year.

Along with the main building we also built a pumphouse to the side that included storage space for all the chemicals and sundries required for pool maintenance. Alongside this we installed a climate control unit that included a dehumidifier for when the pool is running.
