Read how we transformed a busy family's lifestyle with a "perfect" garden room, with cloakroom and shower, kitchen and year-round entertainment space.

The Project – a Contemporary Pent Garden Room
This client was looking for a garden room with a downstairs cloakroom and shower they could use all year round, as there was no space for one inside their house.

They found us via one of our agents and visited our show centre in Bolney, Mid Sussex to see all the options available, before deciding on a contemporary Pent Garden Room with an integral shower room.

Martin Baker provided the clients with an Initial quotation. A subsequent free site survey enabled us to finalise costs and complete the design before starting the project.

The work - designing the garden room

Our clients have a busy family life and, with no room inside their property to create a downstairs cloakroom, they were finding life without one was becoming increasingly difficult. In their search for a garden room for more entertaining space they took the opportunity to combine their need for a downstairs cloakroom within the same room.

They decided on a 6.5m x 4.6m contemporary pent garden room with a 1m x 2.4m partition for the shower room, and a flush door opening into the main room to allow for maximum space within the shower room/cloakroom.

Including the shower room meant that plumbing was available in that area, so our clients also decided to install a kitchen area with breakfast bar in the main room. Including a communications package that included TV, Internet and phone with the upgrade to home automation means that the family can operate their communications remotely via an app. They also included a Sonos sound system, giving them the ultimate entertaining space.

The clients also upgraded their building with the Vertical V-groove version of the "Medite Tricoya Extreme (MTX) " to the front and sides in "Ral 7016 Anthracite". The bi-folding door and windows are all in matching "Anthracite" aluminium, along with our fire wall to rear and Firestone EPDM roof, offering a low maintenance garden building.

Internally the building is finished in our MDF V-groove 200 in "Timeless" acrylic eggshell. The flooring is "Florence", complementing the colours perfectly.

The result - a "perfect" family room

The Anthracite colour sits beautifully within the client's garden and links in with their main house via paving. The room has transformed their family life, giving them daily use of the cloakroom/shower room which has eased the congestion in their busy family home. They also have a beautiful entertaining space in which to enjoy spending time with friends and family.
