Read how we created a garden room home hair salon and entertaining space for a delighted client in West Sussex.

The Project – a West Sussex Garden Room for use as a home salon

Our West Sussex clients in this project wanted a multi-purpose room that could be used as a hair salon to their rear garden.

We were recommended to them, so they visited our show centre in Bolney, Mid Sussex to see their options.

The work - designing the Sussex garden hair salon

While our clients primarily needed to use their new garden room as a hair salon, they also wanted to use it as an entertaining space. They were looking for a modern, comfortable workspace partitioned off to provide a kitchen area and handy cloakroom.

The space also needed to become an entertaining and relaxing space to maximise its usage. They had the perfect position in mind – at the end of their garden where they had a great view of the whole garden.

They decided on a roomy 5.4m x 3.3m 'Kite' with a Firestone EPDM roof, which not only allowed for maximum head height but also offered them the lowest maintenance option possible with a guarantee from us of ten years

They chose a lovely mocha colour 'RAL1019' for the exterior colour, with timber French doors and full length windows across the majority of the front of the building to maximise the amount of light into the room, but also allowing for a kitchen area (chance the outer window at work top level).

As the room was to be used as a home salon it needed a 'back wash' sink along with the potential of 2 work stations with access to plenty of hot water. Our central heating engineer fitted a gas boiler neatly housing it in a handy cupboard. The boiler is fuelled by gas bottles which are discretely located behind the rear of the building and are connected via an auto change system to ensure you never run out.

Our plumber fitted a toilet and basin to the cloakroom. This cloakroom area also has a frosted glass opening window for light and ventilation whilst still allowing privacy. A removable partition wall was also installed, behind which our customer fitted a beautiful kitchen area.

Our client decided to upgrade on the standard internal wall covering and chose v-200 MDF which they arranged to paint after our installation. The laminate flooring in "Mammoth Oak" complements the colours perfectly.
