Garden Room Case Study 5204

Find out how we transformed a tired Surrey swimming pool into a luxury, self-contained garden room incorporating a shower, toilet and a kitchenette, to create a relaxed living and entertainment space.

Mrs R was looking to redevelop her swimming pool area at her home in Surrey, as it had an old cover and was becoming unusable. As part of the redevelopment she was looking for a self-contained garden room that would include a shower, toilet and ideally - a kitchenette.

After finding us through one of our associated garden centres, we offered a site survey and Mrs R then came to visit our main show centre displaying all our buildings and building options.

After a further visit from Martin Baker, our plumber and our electrician, all the prices were confirmed and fixed. This meant that even with a relatively complex submain, our customer knew the exact cost before committing.

A 70 metre electrical submain was required and running alongside this was a communications package including TV, telephone and internet. The drainage and water in was already in place from a previous building and this was checked and used. Internally we fitted all our standard electrics including LED down lights (inside and out), sockets and heaters.

Along with this we then installed a 1200mm shower tray and power shower, hot water storage, basin and toilet. During the process the customer also decided to add on a fantastic kitchenette unit that included a sink, hob, fridge and storage area with a matching wall cupboard.

The building itself is 20x12ft and has UPVC sliding doors in stunning "Anthracite" with a complementary colour of Sadolin superdec in "Slate" on the cladding. This worked really well together and complemented the grey slab patio and furniture.

I am sure this stunning building will get many years of use not only throughout the summer but also during the winter months.
