We at Baker Homes are recognised experts in our field.  In our team we have Code for Baker Homes assessors, NHER assessors, energy experts, strategy experts and trainers who are leaders in their fields.  The team has knowledge of lower carbon new build, existing buildings and effective strategies. Together we are leading the change.

With any operation, success depends on the quality of its people.  Baker Homes has chosen each member of its staff with care.  They have been supported through significant learning and development.  They will provide you with the assistance you need to make your properties and business more sustainable.

The team includes:

Andrew Eagles, Managing Director - Andrew has worked for several years at the Housing Corporation on housing issues.  He has spoken at numerous national conferences on everything from modern methods of construction to housing quality indicators.  Andrew commissioned the Cyril Sweett Code for Baker Homes Costing Research with English Partnerships.  He is a Code for Baker Homes and NHER accredited assessor.  In addition to advising on existing homes housing policy Andrew sat or is sitting on the following steering groups: BRE Sustainability Board; Senior Steering Group on the Code for Baker Homes; Housing Corporation Gold Award; internal champion on sustainability.

Richard Lupo, Sustainability Consultant – Richard, fondly known by the rest of the team as just ‘Lupo’ has taken a lifelong interest in sustainability issues and has a passion for measuring - everything. Richard is a Code for Baker Homes assessor and a trainer of Code Assessors. Most recently he has carried out an EcoHomes XB assessment of his own home. He has a working understanding of sustainability issues gained from study for an MSc in Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London and from hands on research. Richard has recently completed a 2 year research project on recycling of construction and demolition waste within the UK which included a sustainability assessment. Prior to that, he has acted as Principal Contractor under Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations on an industrial installation project. He has also worked within the plumbing fittings manufacturing industry in the UK and Germany, developing new plumbing fittings and investigating their use on sites. Contact richard@bakerstimber.co.uk 0208 973 0473.

Rachel Walls, Sustainability Officer – After leaving University, Rachel entered the social housing sector, working as a Housing Officer managing a patch of Housing Association properties in the South London area. As Rachel’s career progressed, she took on the role of Housing Manager managing a team of front line housing staff. After 15 years, Rachel took a career break and went off to explore South America. When she returned, she decided it was time for a career change! She still had an interest in the social housing sector, and had always had an interest in sustainability so a move to Baker Homes was ideal. Since joining Baker Homes, Rachel has been involved in organising SHIFT and training events, assisting with Greening Hastoe objectives and learning about the Code for Baker Homes.  Contact rachel@bakerstimber.co.uk 0208 973 0405.

Lisa Taylor, Business Development & Projects - Lisa has extensive experience in project management, communications and client relations, and has led operations and government-authorisation teams in the UK, the Americas, China, Siberia, Mongolia and Southeast Asia. Clients have included public, private and third-sector organisations, and projects have ranged from complex multi-country expeditions to intercultural training, and from climate-change documentaries and issues journalism to research into infrastructure megaprojects. She recently completed an MSc in Sustainable Urbanism at UCL with a dissertation on retrofitting London's hard-to-treat buildings, and holds a B.Journalism (Hons) degree from Carleton University in Canada.

Allan Guy, Marketing and Sustainability Co-ordinator – Allan comes from Trinidad and Tobago and brings the warmth of Caribbean sun with him which can be beneficial to the team on cold days.  With an MSc in Sustainable Environmental Development with Management Studies from Kingston University Allan is very knowledgeable on environmental issues.  He has some experience within Trinidad and Tobago’s affordable housing sector where he worked for Home Construction Limited.  Allan is also very passionate about website management. He recently completed his web analytics training course which will improve Baker Homes online presence to its visitors. In his role at Baker Homes, Allan updates and maintains the website and communicates with visitors to the website through various media. Allan also assists in SHIFT surveys, events and other pieces of consultancy work. Most recently Allan has conducted desk studies for the potential of solar pv.

Will Roberts, Finance Director

Will joined the Hastoe Group in 2007 where he was Head of Finance for three years before taking the position of Finance Director in 2010. Will has extensive experience in the Housing and Private Sector as demonstrated by his senior management positions at First Wessex Housing Group and Moat Housing Group. Prior to that he worked for a private property investment company, based in London, for five years. He qualified as a chartered accountant with the accountancy firm Deloitte.

Lisa Boursnell, Finance Officer

Lisa is responsible for preparing the management accounts and providing financial analysis as required for Baker Homes and Hastoe, whilst assisting the Management Accountant and Head of Finance with month end processes. She is currently progressing through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) Professional Qualification.

Caroline Begg, Finance Officer

Caroline is responsible for  inputting invoices, setting up new suppliers, accounts payable and reconciling supplier statements for Baker Homes and the Hastoe Group.

Julie Smith, Head of Human Resources

Julie manages and leads the Human Resources Team in providing a tailored, Group-wide HR and Facilities service - which includes support and advice to Baker Homes and the Hastoe Group.

Maeve Adams,  - Maeve has over 7 years' experience of providing facilitation and training for organisations and communities on often complex and contentious sustainability issues: nuclear security, renewables, low carbon innovation and corporate responsibility; building capacity in the corporate and government sectors, and empowering communities.  She is a qualified Code for Baker Homes Assessor and licensed trainer.  Maeve is really curious about why people do the things they do, and how we can use our knowledge to engage people in creating a more sustainable future. She’s also worked as a bankswoman and chippy, but that’s another story…
Alan Pither - Since 1998 Alan has worked as an energy efficiency consultant and trainer, offering a wide range of services to local authorities, housing associations and other organisations.  Alan has over 20 years experience of working in the energy efficiency field, and in recent years has been increasingly involved in renewable energy projects.  He has extensive experience of environmental assessment, having been a BREEAM assessor since 1990.
